Penguin Photoshop

Today in Info Tech we made a penguin in Photoshop. How we achieved this was that we first used the ellipse tool to make a black oval in the center of the screen. Then we created a smaller white oval on top of the black one. Now we began work on the features, the ellipse tool was used to make the eyes and the pupil (pupils were layered on top of the eyes). We then changed our color to the orange and yellow gradient (using the fill bar at the top of the screen). I used the new  gradient as the color of my beak and feet(which were made again with the ellipse tool). I then created the arms and placed them so it looked like the penguin was happy. To enhance the idea that the penguin was happy, I made him jump in the air with music in the background. I was able to place the musical notes and grass on the screen by holding the ellipse tool and selecting custom shapes option. I'm really proud of what I've created as I think that it has made me improve my photoshop skills as I'm now much more comfortable using the controls, and if I was told to remake this sans instructions, I would be able to.

Photoshop Transformation

Acne Images | Moderate acne on face

The above image is the image I selected to edit, the bottom image is the creation  at the end. How I accomplished is that I used the spot healing brush tool to individually get rid of the pimples. Then I used the patch tool to cut away bad spots such as the left cheek and the chin and replace them with the more cleaner right cheek. Once I had achieved that, I used the color replacement tool and select a shade of jade green to replace the persons natural lip color. Then I selected yellow to make circles around his cheeks. Once I was finished that I blurred out the ears by using the patch tool to replace them with skin. I found this task fun and easy to understand. I hope to work more with these tools in the future.

Photoshop Creation

For the Photoshop creation, I had fixed in images of Pokemons playing soccer at the iconic Wembley Stadium. For this creation I first had selected a picture of the stadium and saved it on the computer, after that I opened it on to the Photoshop screen and it filled the page. Afterwards I had selected portraits of individual Pokemons and instead dragged them onto the Photoshop screen. Dragging was a good strategy because if I had opened the pokemon pictures in their original size, things would've gotten out of hand as they were too big. So I posted all the pokemon pictures to make it look like they were playing a game of soccer as my first creation with Photoshop. There were some things I had wanted to do(such as change the color of the stadium seats), but I just didn't know what to do in order to achieve this. I hope to grow my skills in Photoshop and be able to create many more of these Photoshop pictures

Hockey Photoshop

Creating this took effort as I first looked for an image. I then choose a picture of a hockey game between the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks. I uploaded it onto the Photoshop screen. Then I went on the text tool, created a text box and then timed hockey, to represent whats going on in the picture. I played around with fonts(I choose system) and text size. After that I selected the layers I wanted to fill(the hockey image filling the word hockey), and then I set a 50% grey background. After that I was finished and had created the above Photoshop creation.

What I've Learned in Photoshop

When we first were going to learn Photoshop I thought that I could not be able to do it. I've always had trouble being able to accustom myself with new software. Early on it was looking fairly like my prediction was true. I was finding all these buttons on the pane to the left, too hard to configure. But gradually I've gotten the hang of things. I've been using the lasso tool with much ease now ( I tend not to skid my mouse while I am drawing the line). Also I am able to upload files and layer them correctly to the Photoshop screen . I have played around a lot with many images by replacing their colour using the pain bucket icon. The design I made with the pokemons playing soccer at Wembley Stadium I felt was good but if I knew more about fading colours in the background would have added to make a better Photoshop sample. For a beginner I think I am on the right track and I am excited to learn more as we progress in Photoshop.
